Yes, the days have been quite busy lately but so much fun! Can't believe I am just now posting about the weekend.
I suppose the fun started on Friday, when I went to my friend Irene's shop, The Garden of Beaden, in Upland. The deadline for the latest challenge, The Day of the Dead, was up (although she is not at all strict on this). I usually swing by and do the calligraphy for the nametags.
There are some really cool pieces, so if you are in the area, you might want to stop by and see all the great work.
There are some very inspiring pieces by some very talented artists.
Saturday evening, Asbjorn and I went to see Danielle Hebert sing at The Coffee Gallery.
And Sunday, I met a friend at the Rose Bowl Fleamarket in Pasadena.
There were a lot of people going to this. And it is huge!
I think you can find just about anything here. There are just so many different things, funiture, jewelry, old radios and even gramophones to name just a few of the interesting items you will find. So much! After a while, the brain just gets overloaded. Or maybe it was the heat.
I did make a few purchases:
I was looking for various bits to use in some mixed media pieces and was pleased with what I found. I especially liked this American Legion medal from Miami:
That should make an interesting necklace.
I hope to go back to this fleamarket again. It is held on the second Sunday of the month.
Monday was spent with the same friend downtown at the bead shops and a fabric shop. So I have been out galavanting and alas, not much work has been done. Sometimes, one needs a bit of recharging and to fill the well. I think my well is overflowing!
This week is just flying by, as they are wont to do. I have much I would like to accomplish this week and since there aren't many days left in it, I'd better get cracking!
I hope everyone is having a fantastic week!
