Still, it rains. It hasn't let up and I am amazed and wonder when I have ever seen so many days of rain. I have tried not to let it keep me indoors but last night I just couldn't bring myself to go out again. The rain finds it way under my umbrella and I am beginning to think that clouds have formed under it.
But this morning, I decided to go for a waterstroll around the neighborhood.
The skies are so gray and heavy:
Little rivers and lakes are forming:
Flowers, heavy with water, gallantly hold up their heads:
But others succumb to the weather. They give up and throw their petals to the earth:
The woods nearby are moody with a damp haze:
I hear water running and don't think I have ever seen this stream so full:
A little nativity has flooded and I am thinking they better retreat to higher ground:
And I will end this winter wetland post with a rather strange Christmas greeting I saw on my waterstroll:
I am guessing they want everyone to have a Merry Christmas but not too merry.
I hope everyone is having a great week!
