Well hello to Everyone and a Happy Saturday to all!
I am very happy to say that the Zucchini Pie last night was great. I liked it a lot and so did Asbjorn. It was a simple recipe but it did take time to make. It was worth it. What do you think?
Yes, this recipe is definitely a keeper. I will certainly make it again.
But now on to this morning. I went for a walk when I got up this morning. Just a walk around San Dimas. It is certainly springtime here. All sorts of things are blooming. Some peoples gardens just look so beautiful!
I am really amazed at this poinsettia:
Who knew a poinsettia could be so outrageous!
And I came across this flowering vine, which I think may be a Wisteria. I could be wrong, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Unless someone identifies it for me.
And I love the Nasturtiums in front of this house:
And the geraniums in front of this one:
And then I came across these Sweet peas (I think that's what they are):
I love the old fashioned dented garbage can. You don't see those much anymore. I remember them as a kid. The lids were always really hard to get off which is probably why this can doesn't have one.
And when I was walking home, I came across a bunch of parrots in the trees!
You can't tell from the photo, but they are green with a little orange red. They are also very loud and make a sort of creepy sound. I couldn't help but think of Alfred Hitchcock as I walked underneath them.
And then I returned home, where I looked at my own pitiful garden. Besides having a few straggly herb plants, I have this red geranium and one very dirty pasty faced gnome. Pathetic isn't it? Really, I must do something about that. Sigh, another project.
And before I end this post, I wanted to say that my husband, Asbjorn, is working on a pit crew for one of the motorcycle racers at Fontana, California this weekend. He is working for Sean Higby, who is racing a Buell motorcycle, the 1125R. So when Asbjorn came home last night from the track, he was wearing his pit crew shirt, which I thought looked not only very professional, but also very manly.
So there you have it! I have some cleaning to do and then I don't know what. It is very overcast today and also very quiet. I will probably work on some sort of project, finally finish that purse I plan to use next weekend or something like that. But reading sounds good to me too. I finished the Maisie Dobbs novel, Pardonable Lies (it was really good) and am now reading Twilight by Katherine Mosby.
Have a great weekend everyone!
