Mondays are just not my favorite days. Last night I realized that I was supposed to go to Jury Duty this morning. I thought, ok, I just show up, right? Well, last night I finally looked at the form they sent me about a month ago and realized that I was supposed to fill something out and send it in. So I drove to Pomona this morning, explained my forgetfulness somehow (I must have done a good job because the lady laughed and was very friendly). So it is postponed until March 16. So there. I have even gone so far as to mark it on my calendar.
When I drove to Pomona, I went through the city (no, I didn't have my camera) and went by the antiques row. I am thinking I have to go back and check that out. It's rather quaint looking and might be a fun day.
And on to other things. Two posts in two days! How about that!
I mentioned I would post a photo of my table at the Pasadena show. It really didn't turn out the way I wanted, partly because I'm in it and I hate photographs of myself. And you can't see the fringe on my tablecloth. It's beaded. And sparkly. Of course.
I was selling my kits on one side of the table and the other end was a display of finished work (for sale, too). I really like my display although it looks sort of busy here. I use cigar boxes filled with rice to display the finished work. The wood boxes containing my kits were purchased at Ikea. I did well at the show and really enjoyed it. Yes, I was sick, but still, I really like meeting with everyone and have found this show a fantastic way to make connections with other artists and those with an interest in the arts.
Yesterday, I had a hankering to bake something. I don't bake things very often but really enjoy it. The problem is that I also enjoy eating it. I made a honey spice loaf from the cookbook Chocolate and Zucchini. It was really good. Here is a picture of it:
It was very easy to make and has a nice texture, sort of spongey. It's nicely spiced, too. I had a slice this morning for breakfast with an apple and a cup of tea.
Perhaps I will get a day in this week to go to Pomona and check out those shops. I will let you know if I do.
